We are now pleased to offer customers delivering complex and critical sites our new Evo1 CCTV camera system. The Evo1 CCTV camera system is available for customers of Evo1 Pro and Metro Pro sites, and enables our Professional Services team to respond to traffic incidents remotely and in real-time.

With eyes on the site, our Professional Services team are able to understand what signalling measures need to be made to overcome congested roadworks, adjusting signal timings on the fly to clear high traffic volumes. The use of CCTV in certain circumstances negates the need to be called-out to site, saving costs and carbon emissions.

CCTV has already been deployed to good effect at HS2 sites and urban locations situated near critical infrastructure.

Congestion Monitoring

Our Evo1 CCTV helps us monitor and understand the source of congestion at roadworks. Our signal engineers are then able to adjust the traffic signal timings remotely to clear the roadworks of traffic and reduce the impact on the surrounding road network.

Signal Timing Optimisation

We strive to make our traffic signals work as efficiently as possible while ensuring contractors can safely carry out their work. Our CCTV allows us to optimise our signal timings to keep traffic flowing through the site, accounting for all road users and reducing the environmental impact of queuing vehicles.

Theft Deterrence

The theft of stolen traffic light equipment seriously endangers the public and causes a severe impact to the road network. The presence of our Evo1 CCTV acts as a deterrent to would-be thieves. In the event of theft, we are able to use the CCTV to identify which signal equipment is affected in order to remedy without first visiting the site.

Example – Metro deployment in Preston

Thanks to Evo1 CCTV, we were able to identify a set of portable signals deployed close to site, which were causing vehicles to tailback into the works. We adjusted the phase timings to limit the amount of vehicles exiting in the direction of the other site, thus mitigating congestion.
